Cohen Student Leadership Scholarship for Enhancing Community
In 1990 Stephen I. Cohen established this scholarship in honor of his parents Martha and Albert Cohen, to recognize and support students who demonstrated an active commitment to eliminating bigotry, prejudice, and discrimination and the fostering of tolerance and understanding among the campus community.
Stephen Cohen was born and raised in Waterbury, Connecticut with his brother Robert, and later attended the University of Connecticut from 1961-1965, earning a Bachelors in Arts and Sciences and Mathematics.
While attending the University of Connecticut, Mr. Cohen was involved with numerous campus organizations and organizations including Mathematics Club, Mathematical Association of America, Hillel, Intramurals, and Pi Mu Epsilon. He resided and was active in Trumbull House.
